While we've described what we require for a valid repetition, a picture's worth a thousand words, so we're going to go even further and show you photos of what to do and what not to do! You need to know what's expected before you come!

 

PUSHUPS

Top Position: Straight arms (you don't need to "lock out" your elbows, but you must come up all the way) and body. You may position your hands any way you wish, but they must stay in place once you begin. These are valid...

 

but these aren't: the arms aren't fully extended, body is not straight... 

 

Bottom Position: Upper arms down to at least parallel (but you may go deeper if you wish):

 

These are passable, but borderline. Don't take any chances. Lead with your chest and you'll be ok!

 

And keep your body straight.  Don't do this:
