Something you need to know...
While most sports, including field hockey, have changed little in the past fifty years, the science of strength and conditioning has evolved dramatically and continues to evolve:
Below are some high school gyms... the fourth photo is of a middle school gym!

You can view dozens more at www.samsonequipment.com ... and that's just one company! Notice the relative absence of machines, and the focus on Olympic and power-lifting gear. Think this is all just for the male athletes? In an era of tight school budgets and full Title IX implementation? Guess again! This is the current standard for S&C training all serious athletes of both genders.
If your daughter seriously expects to play beyond high school level, she should already be involved in a serious S&C program. Here's just one example- the S&C program that Wake Forest University used to win two NCAA Div 1 Field Hockey titles. Click here
While our weight-room here at The Training Center isn't as extensive as those shown above, rest assured that we have all the equipment, expertise and innovation needed to develop your daughter's physical potential to its highest competitive level. Our programs incorporate the latest S&C science and techniques; this includes a predominance of strength and power movements which are bodyweight and single-leg oriented. Not only does this reduce the need for large amounts of iron, it's more functional and reproducible for the player away from our facility.
We focus on individual ability, while working in a nurturing small-group environment to foster teamwork and camaraderie. No whistles or yelling. In fact, we try to make the sessions fun, with numerous improvised exercises and drills. For information on our S&C programs, please feel free to contact us!
